We are looking for a Core Gameplay Game Designer to join our growing team!

If you are passionate about bringing characters to life through animation-heavy systems, love fine-tuning controls and player feedback loops, and want to help define the feel of a next-gen sports simulator — this role is for you.

SportSpired Games is an international game studio developing next-generation sports simulators. Our team includes professionals with experience at Wargaming, MY·GAMES, The Walt Disney Company, Ubisoft, 343 Industries, Starbreeze, Sperasoft and EA Sports. We're working on an ambitious AAA title scheduled for release in 2028-2029.

Responsibilities

  • Creating the core gameplay, including key mechanics that form the basis of the sports simulator.
  • Developing and integrating elements that provide tactility and satisfaction from the gameplay, such as controller responses, animations, physical interactions, and the like.
  • Continuously testing and refining these elements to ensure maximum immersion and enjoyment.
  • Understanding of the 3C concept (camera, character, control) and experience working with.
  • Interacting with programmers, artists, animators, and other team members to ensure consistency and integration of all gameplay elements.
  • Ensuring that the visual, technical, and audio aspects of the game are consistent with the core gameplay and feel.
  • Creating and maintaining design documentation that reflects key elements of the gameplay, mechanics, and their changes.
  • Presenting ideas and concepts to management and other stakeholders, justifying your design decisions.

Requirements

  • Presenting ideas and concepts to management and other stakeholders, justifying your design decisions.
  • 2+ years of experience, as a game designer, especially for PC and consoles.
  • Confident knowledge and skills in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with 3D animations: working with montages, experience with animation-heavy systems.
  • Experience in creating core gameplay and iteratively developing core game mechanics that form an intuitive, engaging, and satisfying gaming experience for the target audience.
  • Working with control systems - configuring user inputs.
  • Experience with testing and gathering player feedback for iterative improvement of the gaming experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with other team members, including programmers, artists, animators, and technical specialists.
  • Ability to effectively convey your vision for the game and explain design decisions.
